Jealousy - Spiritual Acid

Jealousy is like a spiritual acid that eats away at a person vitality and verdure (a condition of health and vigor). Acid is a corrosive by nature, which means, it is able to destroy something progressively by chemical action. It is also very interesting to note that acid also can be defined as a sharp, bitter, or sarcastic quality in speech or writing. Wow isn’t that an eye opener. The next time someone speaks sharp, bitter, and/or sarcastic words about or around you, just go ahead and neutralize those destructive daggers, they’ll fall to the ground ineffective and having no power in your life.

If not neutralized the erosive effect of jealousy tends to immediately break down or wear away at whatever it comes in contact with. What use to look vibrant and fresh now looks old, worn and lifeless.

Neutralized defined:
• To make something ineffective, especially by removing its ability to act as a threat or obstacle.

The bible says jealousy is cruel as the grave (Songs of Solomon 8:6). It is contrary to the plans and purposes of God.

Proverbs 14:30 (AMP)
A calm and undisturbed mind and heart are the life and health of the body, but envy, jealousy, and wrath are like rottenness of the bones.

1 Corinthians 3:3 (AMP)
For you are still [unspiritual, having the nature] of the flesh [under the control of ordinary impulses]. For as long as [there are] envying and jealousy and wrangling and factions among you, are you not unspiritual and of the flesh, behaving yourselves after a human standard and like mere (unchanged) men?

James 3:14, 16 (AMP)
But if you have bitter jealousy (envy) and contention (rivalry, selfish ambition) in your hearts, do not pride yourselves on it and thus be in defiance of and false to the Truth.
For wherever there is jealousy (envy) and contention (rivalry and selfish ambition), there will also be confusion (unrest, disharmony, rebellion) and all sorts of evil and vile practices.

Now we can see from the above scriptures why jealousy is cruel. It is unrelenting and destructive. It is brutal and malicious. It is mean and nasty. It is spiteful, unkind and vindictive. We, Christians, must guard our hearts against this deadly enemy. The bible describes jealousy as bitter, which means it is very sour or disgusting to digest. It leaves a bad taste in ones mouth and soul (the mind, will and emotion of mankind).

Many times when people allow jealousy to operate in their lives it is not always obvious at first glance. It will many times sheepishly rear its head and bite in a casual way. The bible says wherever there is jealousy there is confusion or unrest, disharmony and rebellion. Jealousy is rebellious against the character and nature of God. It is selfish in its pursuit and does not regard the plans and purposes of God. Jealousy is rooted in pride; it has no loyalty to God in nature or expression.

When we yield to the flesh, we allow the old sin nature to manifest one of it's fruit called jealousy. When we yield to the flesh, jealousy does not ask for permission to flow and grow in our lives. The flesh cultivates and stimulates jealousy.

The only way we can keep our lives clean and flesh free is to yield to the Spirit and His workings in our lives. We must follow and follow Him closely. We must listen to Him and obey quickly. We must be loyal to His Words. We must be reverent and esteem His voice. We must allow the Word of God to root out, pull down and destroy all the deceptive works of the flesh, while planting, cultivating and building the fruit of the spirit. When we grow in the knowledge of the Love of God we will never be controlled by jealousy again.

Don't Postpone Your Assignment From The Throne

Proverbs 18:9    He also that is slothful in his work is brother to him that is a great waster.

Procrastinate
• to postpone doing something, especially as a regular practice
• synonyms: put- off, delay, drag your feet, postpone, dally, defer

Procrastination and hesitation will oftentimes rob you of your destination.

When we put off the things God has asked us to do we dishonor Him. Many people are quick to say, "Oh yes, I love the Lord" but then don't do or put off doing what He has asked them to do. Jesus said, "the person who has My commands and keeps them is the one who (really) loves Me ..." John 14:21 (AMP)
It is not flattering to God for you and me to verbalized fluffy excuses as to why we put off doing His business. Procrastination is a close relative of neglect. While we have those who put off doing God's business we also have those who do start the work and don't finish but rather allow the work to sit in a corner and rot,  decay and /or deteriorate. The quality of the work becomes inferior to that which is customary of the Kingdom of God.

The word neglect means to give little attention or respect to.

We become so busy doing our own thing that we give no attention to our God given assignments. We drag are feet when it comes to pursuing and doing God's will in our lives, there is always tomorrow to do that we proclaim with no shame or remorse. We accept and practice procrastination as if it is the new normal of the Kingdom of God.

Procrastination is a viper that strikes at the heart of our God given destiny. It will not let up until it pulls you down to the ground of unfulfilled dreams and fruitless visions. However, we don't have to let it fulfill its course in our lives we can fight back.
The bible says, "for the weapons of our warfare are not physical weapons of flesh and blood but they are mighty before God for the overthrow and destruction of strongholds, ... 2 Corinthians 10:4 (AMP)

God has given us every tool and strategy we would ever need to have victory over the destructive devices of darkness. We can destroy the strong hold of procrastination with the mighty weaponry of God. Psalms 107:20 reveals to us that, "God sent His word and healed them and delivered them from all their destruction." God's word can set you free from the enemy of procrastination.
We must effectively arm ourselves with the Word of God and keep ourselves pure from thoughts and ways that would cause us to put off doing God's will.
The plans and purposes that God has for your live are not a joke, they are not insignificant. Every assignment giving to you from God is vital to His over all plan for humanity. A delay from you today could be life or death to someone's tomorrow.
God loves you so very much and He needs every member of His body to be in its place and actively participating in His plan.

God has the plan all mapped out, all we have to do is follow Him. God wants you to complete your journey successfully. Our end in Christ is and always will be good, that will never change. So stay on course, focus, pick back up those things you have dragged your feet in. Determine today that you will not live a shabby Christian life but you will pursue and do all that God has entrusted to you with excellence and joy.

Jeremiah 29:11 declares, For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. The scripture says there is an expected end.

Follow Through

Proverbs 15:4

In whose eyes a vile person is contemned; but he honoureth them that fear the LORD. He that sweareth to his own hurt, and changeth not.

Integrity defined
• The quality of possessing and steadfastly adhering to high moral principles or professional standards.

Boundaries are established through integrity.

If a person’s word is no good then the boundaries and standards they set up in their lives will always be compromised. Sometimes we fail to see the long term problems that come with not keeping our word even to ourselves. We tell ourselves we are not going to do such and such or that we are not going to go here or there and before the sun sets we have compromise or faltered on what we have spoken. We reason that it is okay because it was a personal promise and did not involve anyone else. However, little do we realize we are establishing patterns of mistrust and lying in our minds, which deceive our own hearts and minds as well as others around us.

Christian's should be people with integrity; we must learn through training and practical application,  to keep our word regardless of who the word was spoken to. Of course, there will be times when you spoke something or promised to do something and for whatever reason, you had to postpone or apologize for not being able to do what you said. This however, is not an excuse for shabby, lackadaisical living.

The scripture above states that we should be willing to keep our word even if it hurts. Temporary inconveniences are a small thing compared to the consequences of a broken promise. When we lightly esteem our own words, we devalue the importance of our words; thereby, opening the door to deception.

Words are very important. We must remember the power of life and death is in our words. Let us all endeavor to come up a little higher in our integrity by keeping our word even if it is to our own hurt.

If you don’t plan on doing it.... then don’t say it.

Hit The Target!

Habakkuk 2:1-3

I will stand upon my watch, and set me upon the tower, and will watch to see what he will say unto me, and what I shall answer when I am reproved. And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.

There is something admirable about effort. I applaud every noble cause but a cause without effort equals failure. The prophet Habakkuk declared that he would stand on his watch. Many times people are not willing to put any effort to seeing the plan that God has for their life fulfilled. Now, don’t misunderstand me, I do believe in sweat- less victories; meaning not trying to obtain things in your own strength. However the scriptures tell us that we can do all things through Christ that strengthens us. Well, what does God strengthen us for? He strengthens us for us to do all things. Yes, it is God’s strength but we must participate and do our part. If you want a job then you need to get up and go apply for one, they don’t just drop out of the sky because God just strengthen you.

Habakkuk chose to seek God to see what the Lord would say to him and God in returned answered him. God has things to say to you, He wants you to hit the target of your destiny.

Target defined:
• A goal or objective toward which effort is directed.

When God begins to reveal His plans and purposes to us we then have something to target. That Divine plan becomes our bulls-eye. It’s important to write down what God says to us and then keep it before our eyes like a target. God will always fulfill His Word but we must believe. Believing is part of our effort. It is easier to hit a fixed target as opposed to a moving target. When I say a moving target I mean something that keeps changing. God is not changing targets on you every other day. He means what He says and says what He means. The vision God has given you may not fully come to pass today or tomorrow but you can be assured that it will come to pass, just like He said. So write the vision and make it plain, run with it and don’t stop until you have seen His good will come to pass at last.

What Can Separate You?

Romans 8:34-40 (AMP)

Who is there to condemn [us]? Will Christ Jesus (the Messiah), Who died, or rather Who was raised from the dead, Who is at the right hand of God actually pleading as He intercedes for us? Who shall ever separate us from Christ's love? Shall suffering and affliction and tribulation? Or calamity and distress? Or persecution or hunger or destitution or peril or sword? Even as it is written, For Thy sake we are put to death all the day long; we are regarded and counted as sheep for the slaughter. Yet amid all these things we are more than conquerors and gain a surpassing victory through Him Who loved us. For I am persuaded beyond doubt (am sure) that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities, nor things impending and threatening nor things to come, nor powers, Nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation will be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

God’s love is constant. It is unchanging. No matter where you are or what you are going through God’s love for you and in you is unvarying and pure. It is impossible for the love of God to be defiled or corrupt. The scriptures declare in 1 John that God is light and in Him there is no darkness at all. God is not good one day and evil the next. God is good all the time, Hallelujah!

Separate defined:
• To move two or more people or things away from each other, or prevent people or things from coming into contact with each other.
• To stand or lie between one person or thing and another.

The devil will try to come and sit right in between your love relationship with God. He will try to use deceptive devices to divide and conqueror. He will send storms and chaos, mishap and confusion, life threatening diseases, doubt and distress, all in an attempt to separate you from love. The devil is a liar, everything he says, yes, everything, is a lie. Lies from the enemy are sent to steal, kill and destroy from you. They are sent to stand between you and love to prevent fellowship and communion. However, don’t forget, God’s love is greater.

Who shall ever separate us from Christ’s love, the scripture says. Nothing and no one can ever separate you from God’s love. Now notice the writer did not say, “Who shall ever separate you from God’s blessings, wealth, health, protection, power, wisdom, strength, joy, peace, provision, presence, gifts, callings, life, light, etc? Perhaps he used love because all these other things are branches of love. When love is the root, all these other things are the fruit. All good things flow out of one source, Love.

In the mist of whatever kind of suffering, affliction or test or trial, remember that, greater is he that is in you than he that is in the world. What is in you? God is in you and God is Love. Love never fails, therefore in every situation you are more than a conqueror through Love. So be fully persuaded, beyond all doubt, about your victory. Love will endure without weakening. When the storms of life rage, know that after the last drop of rain and hail, the last howl of the wind, love will still be standing tall victorious in the end.

Take time daily to cultivate and develop a life total yielded and controlled by Love. Love is the answer to every question your heart will seek to ask God.

POWER OUTAGE

In the natural world it is very easy for a power outage to occur, a little wind, thunder and lightening and BAM your lights blink. Man's natural equipment doesn't seem to compare or match up with natures fury. However there is a power that is greater and far more superior than anything other power. THE POWER OF ALMIGHTY GOD!

In the life of a believer, storms both spiritual and natural present a wonderful opportunity to display the awesome power of God. We should never have power outages. We must stay full of the power of God.

Jesus dominated spiritual and physical storms.

Mark 4:38-40"And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we perish? And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm. And he said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith?"

WOW! No power outage, there just was a full manifestation of dunamis!
God wants us to look just like Him in every situation of life, even during a storm. God has fully supplied every believer with power to be a witness. We are witnesses of Christ when we dominate storms. We are witnesses of Christ when we cast out devils and lay hands on the sick and see them recover.

Power outages happen in the lives of those who are luke warm. Power outages happen for those who do not believe. Power outages happen when we neglect reading the word of God and fellow-shipping with Him. Power outages happen when we stay more in tune with the world than praying and being sensitive to God's Spirit. Power outages happen when we live in the flesh and not in the spirit.
God did not leave us here in the earth without power.

Luke 10:18-20 (AMP)
And He said to them, I saw Satan falling like a lightning [flash] from heaven. Behold! I have given you authority and power to trample upon serpents and scorpions, and [physical and mental strength and ability] over all the power that the enemy [possesses]; and nothing shall in any way harm you. Nevertheless, do not rejoice at this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rejoice that your names are enrolled in heaven.

Rise up child of God and use this awesome power, there is a great demand in this hour. Don't let the lightening strike your tower. Stay awake and alert on your watch, don't let the lights go out on your block.
