1 John 4:4
Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.
The word "greater" is synonymous with words like bigger, superior, larger and better. The above scripture reveals to us, children of God, that the reason we are over comers is not because we are great in and of ourselves, but because of He who is greater in us. There is one who lives in us who is God--God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. These three persons are great therefore they make us over comers.
We must remember that we are in the world , but the world is not in us. God is in us. It is not what is on the outside of a person that makes the person who they are, it's what and who is on the inside. God is bigger, better, superior and larger in comparison to any and everything that is in the world.
Notice that this scripture says "than he", indicating that this is a being. The "he" that is in the world is our enemy Satan. He opposes God, but he is inferior on all levels to God. Satan has never been equal or nowhere near God's level of being. The scripture reminds us that there is no one like God. He is God alone, Majestic and Awesome in all His ways. God is Greater in you than he that boast himself to be great in the world. So, Rejoice and be exceedingly glad God, Himself lives in you. What an awesome revelation!
