Don't Park the Ark...Without Permission!

Genesis 7:5

And Noah did according unto all that the LORD commanded him.

Noah entered into the ark at God's command. The building of the ark and all the details and instructions all came from God; this was not Noah’s idea. Noah did not get together with his family and come up with this plan so that his name could be spoken of for generations to come. God commanded Noah and Noah obeyed, not just some of what God had spoken but all. Noah’s motives were pure and his obedience glorified God.

I think it is very important to note in Genesis 8, that Noah did not veer from God’s original plan nor did he begin to incorporate his own ideas or alter what had been commanded of him. It is so vital that we all learn from Noah’s faithfulness and stick with the plan that God has for our lives. God entrusted Noah with a very crucial assignment. The future of all mankind was dependent upon Noah’s obedience. I know you might be thinking, “well that was Noah, my assignment from God is not that vital, it won’t have a universal effect.” Well you are wrong, every human being that comes into this earth their life and purpose has a very vital part to play in the whole of God’s plan. Every life is significant to God; don’t underestimate the course that God has set before you it can be life or death to the people that God bring across your path. Noah had precious commodity on that ark: all were created by God’s own hand. God loves and values everything He created, nothing is insignificant or useless.

No word from God is without power or value. God never speaks an idle word. When God spoke to Noah, He was not just trying to find someone to have an idle conversation with because He was lonely. No every word that God speaks is spirit and it is life. When God speaks His words automatically begin to bring about what He said. When God spoke to Noah, he valued and held precious each word that God said. Noah set out to prove that He believed and trusted God by doing what God had asked him to do. Jesus said, “If ye love me, keep my commandments.” John 14:15

Noah not only began the work that God commanded of him but he finished it. When the rain stopped and the waters began to reside I’m sure Noah was tempted to get out of the ark. The bible records in Genesis 8 that Noah looked out of the ark and could see that the ground was dry yet he remained in the ark until God said, “Go forth out of the ark.” I’m sure Noah and his family were ready to go to the next phase of God’s awesome plan but they waited on the Lord to give them further instructions. God had just saved Noah and his family from death; I think it was wise and honorable for Noah to see what God had to say next. Sometimes people begin following the plans that God has for them and then they lose patience and don’t wait on God for the next step. They think oh I know what to do next, “Hey, Jesus, I got this, you go ahead and rest, I can take it from here.” No we must allow God to direct our every step.

The scripture declares, “Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:” Philippians 1:6

Let God begin and end your course don’t take matters into your own hands, you will ultimately fail. God has the master plan for your life; follow Him, even when it doesn’t seem popular or appreciated by the multitude just stick with God’s plan. God will never lead you astray, so don’t play with your destiny, seek and obey Him. Don’t forget to wait on God for the next step in His plan, be patience and don’t jump out ahead of Him, let Him lead the way. When we follow God’s plan our ark will arrive at the right destination, in step and on time. So don't get out your boat, stay afloat, until God says go!
