2 Corinthians 5:19-20 (AMP)
19 It was God [personally present] in Christ, reconciling and restoring the world to favor with Himself, not counting up and holding against [men] their trespasses [but cancelling them], and committing to us the message of reconciliation (of the restoration to favor).
20 So we are Christ’s ambassadors, God making His appeal as it were through us. We [as Christ’s personal representatives] beg you for His sake to lay hold of the divine favor [now offered you] and be reconciled to God.
Representative defined :
- standing or acting for another especially through delegated authority.
Wherever you go wherever you are you are Christ's representative. You have been chosen by God to act on his behalf. You have been given by God authority to speak on his behalf. You are a personal representative of Christ. The Scriptures tell us that we are gods ambassadors. That means that we are not here on our own accord. We are here to represent the kingdom of God and speak His message. When Jesus walked the earth the Bible said he went about doing good healing all that were oppressed of the devil for God was with Him. Jesus was an Ambassador and/or representative from the kingdom of God. Jesus said when you've seen me you've seen the Father. This lets us know that he was a representative of the father and his works. The Scripture says God was in Christ reconciling the world unto himself. Now God is in us and we speak to the world on His behalf. Never underestimate the people's paths you cross on a daily basis. Your influence and words can be life and/or death to wandering soul. The words that you speak as a representative of God and His Kingdom can stop suicide, divorce, hatred, murder, witchcraft, etc. If you and I would cooperate with God he would open doors for us to stand before kings and priests, presidents and nations to represent Him and speak His message. However it would be his agenda carried out, not ours. It would be His Name that would be glorified not ours. God has a message for the world he needs ambassadors to speak that message on his behalf. God has compassion for the lost, healing for the sick and broken-hearted, kindness for the ill-treated, mercy for the rebellious and cynical, peace and strength for the weary and worn, comfort for those who mourn, grace for the faithless and unbeliever, salvation for all.
So as you go your way from day to day remember you are a representative of Christ. Hold your head up and square your shoulders back, now act like the King you are and the Awesome God your represent! Speak what He tells you to speak and do what He tells you to do and many will be blessed for generations to come.
