Bon Appétit!

When you sit down at the table of everyday life and open the menu you find many choices. There will be a variety of entrees, sides and desserts but you must be wise to your selection. Many people like buffet style so that they can eat any and everything there little eyes see and of course as much as they want for just one assumingly low price.
Menus are list and list give people options. Many marriages would be spared if there were no other supposed options. Rarely do couple’s divorce when there is no other person involved with one of the spouses. The devil puts someone in their path and suddenly they think they have options. “I don’t need to stay in this relationship; I can have any man or woman I want.” Oh really meat-head, look at who wrote up the menu you are looking at. The devil knows what kind of plate to put in front of your eyes.
Menus are designed to spark certain responses. As a matter of fact people rarely look at menus if they are not hungry. People generally make selections based on past experience or influence. “If I were you I would get that it looks so good.”Or they remember what that particular thing taste like when they were in high school so they order it thinking it will have the same experience as before. Many times when you choose something from a menu picture it is not what you thought when you get it.
Just because something is set before you, does not mean you have to partake of it. You do have a right to refuse. Our taste buds are influence by our environment. What you see, hear, smell, touch and taste can greatly influence your choices.
Jesus prayed a prayer in John 17 saying, “I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil. They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth. As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world.
Christians are in the world but we are not of the world. There are many things we must do on a daily bases that will bring us in contact with the world. There are things we must do in our everyday life that require a response to the menu of life. What store do I go get groceries from? What bank do I open an account with? What restaurant do I eat at tonight? These are all innocent options on the menu of everyday life. However sometime we can get so accustomed to just haphazardly making everyday choices that we miss the fine print. There are some options that are listed right alongside of all the innocent ones that are toxic to your spirit, soul and body. If ingested they will produce death. These toxic items generally look just like all the other ones, same cute packages and everything but the content is death.

So the next time you order off the menu you may what to consider what you are about to put on your plate. Order wisely! Bon Appétit!

Proverbs 23:1-3
When thou sittest to eat with a ruler, consider diligently what is before thee: And put a knife to thy throat, if thou be a man given to appetite. Be not desirous of his dainties: for they are deceitful meat.
