And the sun was darkened, and the veil of the temple was rent in the midst.
And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, he said, Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit: and having said thus, he gave up the ghost.
The Night after Jesus Died by Cathy Harris
The night after Jesus died, no joy in the house
The disciples all hiding, feeling forsaken and lost.
The atmosphere filled with dread
Judas hung himself now dead.
Mary feeling all alone
Her first born son, crucified and gone
His followers terrified and scared
Wondering will they be next or will they be spared.
No joy, no laughter only sorrow and gloom
Peter denied Him the others fled to some distant back room
The night was silent not like His birth, when the angels were singing and proclaiming
Glory to God in the highest Peace on earth good will toward men
No excitement at all, only tears and pain, no one jumping and shouting, no one praising His Name.
The grave was dark no sign of life was there
All hope seemed lost, such gloom and despair.
Who would have thought it, Jesus is dead just like He said, to rise again the third day
No one remembered the price for sin He was willing to pay.
But His words came to pass just like He said, as He rose on that glorious third day
The conqueror of death, hell and the grave
Destroying sins power over you and me
Resurrection power for all to see
All glory, honor and majesty
The King has risen now all can be free!
