...and Liberty for all!

2 Corinthians 3:15
Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.

There is absolute liberty in Christ.

The word liberty means freedom from captivity or slavery.

Did you know you could become a slave to such things as: anger and bitterness, resentment and hostility? Many people walk around mirroring a time bomb. Tic, Tic, Tic, Tic, Tic ………………..

They have become so full of fleshly anger that at the slightest nudge, like a volcano they erupt into an inferno of rage and aggressive behavior.

Ecclesiastes 7:9
Be not hasty in thy spirit to be angry: for anger resteth in the bosom of fools.

Many times when people harbor anger they are those who practice brooding. One definition for the word brooding is to be preoccupied with a troublesome or unwelcome thought. Brooding is to think resentful, dark or miserable thoughts. Can you see how this kind of internal environment can breed and encourage anger and resentment? This is not the way God meant for us to live. Jesus came that we could have life and life more abundantly.

The bible, in the book of Genesis tells us of another kind of brooding. This type of brooding is associated with covering. It is the type of brooding that is related to sitting on or hatching eggs. This brooding refers to nestling over something until what’s on the inside breaks forth to the outside.

Genesis 1:2
The earth was without form and an empty waste, and darkness was upon the face of the very great deep. The Spirit of God was moving (hovering, brooding) over the face of the waters.

As we allow the word of God to destroy the root of anger in our lives and bring complete liberty we then can yield to a different kind of brooding. The Spirit of God can now hover and brood over the life of God on the inside of you. God wants that life to spring forth from on the inside of you to allow liberty to flow to others.

  1. Do you have complete liberty in your life? If not, what spirit or spirits are still dwelling within you then? When the Spirit of the Lord totally consumes you, then there will be liberty and true freedom in your life.
