Psalms 23: 4
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

Have you ever been on a dark highway where there were no other lights but your headlights going before you? If you look in your rearview mirror you'll see a path of darkness behind you. Your tail lights were not placed on your car to provide light for you to see the road behind you, they only aid people behind you to see you as they approach you. God never gave us light to look backward only light to go forward. If you glance to the left and to the right out of your car windows as you drive forward you'll notice the fields are dark as well. Remember to keep your focus and sight on the light before you. Darkness can be intriguing, mystical, alluring and sometimes quite hypnotic. Never allow darknes to draw you in through mere curiousity.

Night travel reqiures tremendous concentration because your vision is limited to where the light shines. The world is dark and getting darker but remember there is light before you, so follow God's light and appreciate and cherish His rod and staff that bring comfort to you.

  1. I agree, there isn't really any need to illuminate a person's past no matter how far back in the past it may be, but as Christians, we should always strive to look forward where the most and more focused point of light is. This is where we derive or true and best direction. Yes the light from above can and will illuminate the darkest highways in our lives and will always lead and guide us to our destiny or destination if we allow him to guide us
